If someone likes to talk about people and troubles him/herself with such kind of things, this is his/her own problem. The right approach shall be we are indifferent of whether the others are right or not, we take it as it is with no discrimination and we do so with ease. Then, not only will we enjoy peace of mind but will avoid creating negative karma through our words. This is the first and utmost important principle in practice. Remember: "When come across any circumstances, we shall forbear them, and then enjoy the peace of mind." This is the best antidote for a troubled mind.

Don't always make comments like some people are good and some are evil. All judgments are but distinctions made by our minds. To those who really know how to practice, all sentient beings are helpful mentors.

When we come cross somebody who intends to harm us, the right mindset should be: "It must be because I have done him harm in previous lives. I should stop this vicious cycle of bad karmic affinity and try to help him liberate as well." Everything that happens, no matter how insignificant, has a cause.

I know a person when he talks to people, he always looks around and pretends to be saying something that he does not want anybody else to hear. Those who saw such behavior might think he/she was speaking ill of others, which is not necessarily true. Therefore, we should be natural and feeling at ease in whatever we do lest should we create unnecessary misunderstandings.

Whatever we do, do it willingly and joyfully. In this way, our wisdom will grow.

Do whatever needs to be done, irrespective of whose responsibility it is. As long as we do it willingly and voluntarily, we will earn virtues and meritorious benefits for ourselves. Do not criticize others for any reason. Bad-mouthing will only create negative karma. Please remember that we are working for no one else but ourselves; we are working to eradicate our karmic obstructions.

Think (and plan) carefully in whatever we do and be clear what we are doing. Do not follow others blindly; we shall have the capability to make sound judgment. Practice means cultivating wisdom through the tasks we perform and the mistakes we made.

As monastics, we shall perform our duties diligently. If we are being lazy and simply want to enjoy a good life and neglect our duty, our merits accumulated in previous lives will soon be used up. By then, we will be under the full swing of our karmic obstructions and it will naturally be difficult for us to hold on and continue our practice in the monastery.

Concentrate on your assignments and do your best. Do not try your hands on everything and end up doing nothing well.
